TESTIMONY: Rafael Adames

My name is Rafael, which is Greek for 'healing of the Lord'.

I began attending Legacy Church in 2014. I immediately felt at home, but within only a month of attending, I suddenly became ill and was taken to the ER. The doctors diagnosed me with Chron's Disease, an illness that's incurable. I was forced to put my life on hold, and spend the next seven months in recovery.

I had a total of three surgeries, which removed part of my intestines. I had an IV for fluids, and another for nutrients that went through my bicep and directly into my heart. I lost 30lbs in two weeks. I remember being angry with God in my hospital bed, refusing to speak to Him. My doctor came in before surgery and said, “Do you know that God is going to heal you?” It finally clicked in my head as he asked the question. “Yes.” I responded confidently. Relief and peace flooded me. Even my visitors could tell. And my church family never stopped supporting me. They prayed with me as I laid on the dirty hospital floor when it was too painful to get into bed. They comforted me as I cried. I realized how important it is to have a church family.

I'm in even better health now then I was before I got Chron's. God is still healing me, even to this day. I would ask anyone to trust in God to heal you physically, emotionally, and mentally and to find a church with people that pray and believe in miracles.
