LeadTip #8 Prayer overcomes fear
“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 2Kings 6:16
Elisha had to pray for his servant to see what he could not see, an army of angels ready to overtake the enemies surrounding them.
Prayer is how we set our eyes upon what is really happening in the spiritual world. Prayer gives you faith, discernment and vision for what can be.
Prayer overcomes fear. Prayer calls upon the promises of God and helps you to see and believe beyond the natural circumstances of life.
Prayer empowers you to be bold in your declarations of the Word of God, thus influencing and empowering those around you. Prayer encourages those who may have weak faith and small vision.
How do I pray you may ask. Jesus gave us a model - the LORD’s prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. It begins by seeing God for who he is, a loving, patient, compassionate Father. You must ask the Holy Spirit to help you see God in this way, because it changes the posture of your prayers and relationship with the LORD.
Prayer is thanksgiving, prayer is worship, prayer is decreeing the word of God, prayer is asking for what you need, prayer is repenting, seeking grace and mercy, prayer is ruling over lies, discouragement and binding the enemy, prayer is friendship, communication and conversation with your Father in heaven!
Lead by prayer first in every situation and circumstance. Don’t be afraid, pray.
