LeadTip #24 Lead as a star

Daniel 12:3

“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”

Lead as a star! Let the light of Christ shine through you in everything you do.

The Magi followed a star to the Christ child. It takes over a million years for a star to form out of gas and dust. God fashioned this star for a divine purpose, to lead people to Jesus. Your life is also created for that same divine purpose.

Being educated in astrology and the writings of the prophets, these wise men saw this new star as a sign that the greatest of kings would be born. Their knowledge and faith would lead them and others to salvation. This was their legacy! No other story is written about these people other than the Christmas story.

Your life will also leave behind a story, some type of legacy. What will it be? Will people remember you by your occupation, the amount of money you had, the type of car you drove? Will your Last Will and Testament only contain worldly possessions, or will it be filled with a spiritual legacy that will last into eternity?

There is a profound legacy that Christians can leave behind that will outlast any other legacy. That legacy is the salvation of lost souls and the building of the church of Jesus Christ.

What is a soul’s value? There is no earthly currency that can be used as a measurement. The only measurement that can be used for the value of a soul is the one used by God himself, the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ on a cross.

The giving of His Son Jesus is God’s eternal legacy and the Church is the legacy of Jesus. The Church is everlasting legacy the gates of hell will not prevail against. This is also our legacy as followers and ambassadors of Christ. People come to know Jesus every day through the church, and their salvation becomes our eternal legacy.

Never forget you are a star, you are the light of the world!

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

You are who God now uses in a dark world to light the way to Jesus and His Church. Make this a prominent goal in your life, a priority, a focus, a passion.

There is no greater legacy!
